The weekends do not need to be consecutive and you can book them individually or as a package (5% discount). After a first sailing weekend you can do 2 more to complete the competent crew course. |
Practical Training as Part of an Adventure Sailing Holiday
The Competent Crew Course can also be completed as part of an adventure sailing trip. Click here to view the programme. These trips are also highly suitable for building miles and days at sea and widening your experience but for basic day skipper and coastal skipper training you need a separate 5 day course.

Weekend Milebuilders
If you enjoy challenge, camaraderie, hard work, like seeing the dawn and sunsets (or both), like the feel of wind (and sometimes rain too) in your face, need to get away from working stress, then these milebuilder trips may be for you. Each weekend will usually run on Tonic – our Bavaria 46 with a crew of up to 8.
Fun Sailing Weekends
In low season we sometimes have boats and instructors available for fun sailing weekends. These have no formal RYA course structure. We’ll just get a crowd together and have some fun. Its still all hands on and there’s an instructor aboard to give coaching and advice.
Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Exam Preparation
These are offered as either a 5 day course including the exam or a 5 day course plus the exam (making 7 days in all). Prices and Dates are in the table below. |

What will I need to bring? The only specialized kit you will need is suitable footwear – deck shoes or trainers and sea boots (clean wellies might do, but grip on deck is poor), sailing gloves (desirable but not essential) and a sleeping bag. Our base shop sells a range of good quality sailing gear. Call us to check sizes and availability.
